Ballet

We run classes at the school starting with our Baby Ballet classes, for children from age 2.

This is a fun class where the children get to learn the very basics of Ballet including musicality and coordination skills as well as the discipline of being part of a group, and taking basic instruction. The little ones get to bring along a favourite teddy or doll to lessons who play a part in the class and also bring a touch of familiarity for those that may be of a more shy nature.

Our next class up is our Pre-Primary Ballet class for children aged 4. This class establishes a little more foundation for the grades that are to follow and prepares the children with a bit more understanding of the dance steps required as they will progress.

From age 5 our classes become more structured to conform with the ISTD syllabus (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance). Children will join Primary Ballet at age 5 and only at age 6 are they old enough to take their first exam which we try to encourage but is not compulsory.

After Primary we then continue with classes from Grade 1 - 6 Ballet. Once the children have taken their Grade 6 Ballet exam they will then progress onto the major exams, beginning with Intermediate.
